That said the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, on the face of the UN General Assembly on Friday (23/09/2011), in a historic demand to the world body to recognize a Palestinian state as a full member. “My people willing to use their right to enjoy a normal life like other people,” Abbas said. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who then addressed the General Assembly, said the Palestinian people are looking for a “country without peace” which, he said, would continue to threaten the security of small states. Netanyahu said the Palestinians are not only armed with “hopes and dreams,” as told Abbas in a speech. To realize a Palestinian state, Abbas, Netanyahu said, also adding “10,000 missiles, and Grad rockets supplied by Iran, not to mention the flood of lethal weapons into Gaza.”

“Palestinians must first make peace with Israel, then reached for their country,” said Netanyahu again.

Abbas’s speech received from the Palestinians who watched the speech on a big screen television in the town square of Ramallah, the West Bank. They welcomed the news with cheers, singing and dancing.

A few moments after submitting a formal letter requesting the full membership of the UN, Abbas said Israel continued to obstruct the peace, so it’s time for the UN to act. “We aspire to and seek a greater role and more effectively in the UN in working to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in our region that guarantees rights and legitimate national unplug it Palestinian people,” said Abbas, who was greeted with a long-pat hand when she went to the pulpit. Mass demonstration planned to take place in New York and is expected to occur also in the entire Middle East.
